Welcome Herb!

I'd like to welcome Herb Sutter with open arms to our growing list of distinguished bloggers! His book 'Exceptional C++' still holds a special place on my shelf and I've been a fan of his work for a long time. Here's a more formal description of who Herb is and what he does for those of you that don't know him:

Herb Sutter is a leading authority on software development in general and C++ and .NET in particular, and the creator of dozens of innovations in the fields of distributed database systems architecture, distributed network adaptive self-organization, and cryptographic security for databases. He is currently a software architect at Microsoft, chair of the ISO C++ Standards Committee, and the author of four acclaimed books and hundreds of papers and articles on software development topics.

I'm not excited - I've always enjoyed reading Herb's blogs and it doesn't seem to be progress moving over to a site that requires registration to read it, and then isn't accepting registrations.

Our blogs don't require registration, so I'm not sure what you are referring to. Besides which, Herb now keeps his blog over at wordpress.com.
